New York City !

The most beguiling city in the world, New York is an adrenaline-charged, history-laden place that holds immense romantic appeal for visitors. Wandering the streets here, you'll cut between buildings that are icons to the modern age – and whether gazing at the flickering lights of the midtown skyscrapers as you speed across the Queensboro bridge, experiencing the 4am half-life downtown, or just wasting the morning on the Staten Island ferry, you really would have to be made of stone not to be moved by it all. There's no place quite like it.
While the events of September 11, 2001, which demolished the World Trade Center, shook New York to its core, the populace responded resiliently under the composed aegis of then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Until the attacks, many New Yorkers loved to hate Giuliani, partly because they saw him as committed to making their city too much like everyone else's. To some extent he succeeded, and during the late Nineties New York seemed cleaner, safer, and more liveable, as the city took on a truly international allure and shook off the more notorious aspects to its reputation. However, the maverick quality of New York and its people still shines as brightly as it ever did. Even in the aftermath of the World Trade Center's collapse, New York remains a unique and fascinating city – and one you'll want to return to again and again.
You could spend weeks in New York and still barely scratch the surface, but there are some key attractions – and some pleasures – that you won't want to miss. There are the different ethnic neighborhoods, like lower Manhattan's Chinatown and the traditionally Jewish Lower East Side (not so much anymore); and the more artsy concentrations of SoHo, TriBeCa, and the East and West Villages. Of course, there is the celebrated architecture of corporate Manhattan, with the skyscrapers in downtown and midtown forming the most indelible images. There are the museums, not just the Metropolitan and MoMA, but countless other smaller collections that afford weeks of happy wandering. In between sights, you can eat just about anything, at any time, cooked in any style; you can drink in any kind of company; and sit through any number of obscure movies. The more established arts – dance, theater, music – are superbly catered for; and New York's clubs are as varied and exciting as you might expect. And for the avid consumer, the choice of shops is vast, almost numbingly exhaustive in this heartland of the great capitalist dream.

What are some healthy ways for teenage girls to lose weight !

First, you have to eat healthy to lose weight. diets dont work because most people cheat or binge or whatever. the best foods i suggest are lean meats (turkey, salmon, chicken), veggies are great, fruits if your craving sugar, whole wheat bread onlyfoods to avoid mexican, chinese, and italian are not very healthy. when eating out, order salad or anything grilled. fried or creams are terrible for you.second, you must exercise at least do something for 30-60 a day. like walking your dog, running, sports, yoga, jump roping. anything thats active. even dancing. cutting back on calories helps a lot. what you eat is what you are. you will definitely lose weight if you count how much is going in. 1200 calories is very little. so i would say around 1400 to 1500. not 2000 to lose weight.and drink lots of water. do not drink juice or high sugar drinks. gatorade any of that stores as sugar then fat. also dairy products such as cheese or whole milk are both fattening so make sure you have skim milk or skim cheesehope this helps!

Functions of clothing !

One of the primary purposes of clothing is to keep the wearer warm or in some cases cool. In hot climates clothing provides protection from sunburn or wind damage, while in cold climates its thermal insulation properties are generally more important. Shelter usually reduces the functional need for clothing. For example, coats, hats, gloves, shoes, socks, and other superficial layers would normally be removed when entering or once inside a warm home, particularly if one is residing or sleeping there. Similarly, clothing have seasonal and regional aspects, so that thinner materials and fewer layers of clothing are generally worn in warmer seasons and regions than in colder ones.
Clothing at times is worn as protection from specific environmental hazards, such as insects, noxious chemicals, weapons, and contact with abrasive substances. Clothing can protect against many things that might injure the uncovered human body. Clothes act as protection from the elements, including rain, snow and wind and other weather conditions, even from the sun. Clothes also reduce the level of risk during an activity, such as work or sport. Conversely, clothing may protect the environment from the clothing wearer, as for example wearing of medical scrubs

GO..GO..GO..
Hong Kong at NightAcquired by the British in 1841 and formally handed over to China in 1997, this thriving metropolis mainly comprises Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. Many landmarks and historical sights can be found within the city as well as in the outskirts and outlying islands, from colonial buildings, Buddhist temples and statues to space-age skyscrapers.
Victoria Peak on Hong Kong Island offers sky- high views over the city and can be reached by the winding road or the peak tram. Around the island, a sampan boat trip takes you through Aberdeen harbour, with its crowded houseboats, junks and floating restaurants. The local people relax on the beaches of deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay, where swimmers are protected by shark-proof nets.Stanley market is a popular place to shop for clothing, crafts and souvenirs. Nathan Road in the Tsimshatsui district is a tree-lined avenue stretching from south to north right through Kowloon. Today, this is one of the busiest commercial roads in Hong Kong; the lower end of the road is known as the Golden Mile because of the plethora of storefront neon signs. A walk along Nathan Road will reveal a shopper’s paradise with many boutiques, camera shops, street markets and restaurants crammed in side-by-side. The daily language used among Hong Kong’s residents is mainly Cantonese (Guangdong dialect). The official languages are Mandarin Chinese and English

Getting Fat or Keeping Fit !!!

Some people want to get fat -Japanese Sumo wrestlers , for example. Their typical meal is called
chankonable , a mixture of rice , meat , vegetables . It's healthy, but it has a lot of calories .
It's difficult to throw a very heavy man to the floor ! This is why Sumo wrestlers eat a lot of
food and go to bed straight after eating . Some Sumo wrestlers weight 250 kilograms, a few of
them even 280 kilograms.
But most people want to keep their weight down . In Britain and the USA , doctors are
worried that a lot of teenagers are overweight.
They often eat unhealthy food and spend a lot of time sitting in front of the television or the
computer .
HERE'S SOME ADVICE :
* Have some vegetables or some fruit in every meal. Tomatoes are great !
* Eat five small meals a day instead of two or three large meals .
* It's a good idea to eat snacks , but don't eat a lot of sugar. Have some bread , an apple , some
grapes or carrot.
* Don't eat fried food very often . Have some rice or some pasta instead.
* Drink a lot of water. If you want a sweet drink , have some fruit juice.
* Do some exercise every day. Exercise burns off the calories and makes you fit .
So come on - get up and ride your bike , swim , run , go to walks !
* Finally, remember -there's no need to be skinny ! Enjoy your food and have fun when you're exercising.
